Is Kago Ai mounting a comeback?: On her public apology and more
(Japanese online gossip source: Widegeinou) Not having appeared in front of fans since February 2006, former Morning Musume member Kago Ai apologised on 4th April 2008 on [Nashimoto-Geinou-Ura Channel]’s show. (Widegeinou says February 2006, but Wikipedia cites her official departure from media activity at around early 2007)
Just some background information, which can be found on her wiki entry here (I personally don’t follow the whole Morning Musume thing also :p ) Kago Ai was caught smoking twice by the same magazine – Friday (フライデー) – and hence had her contract cancelled by UpFront agency.
In her statement of apology, Kago Ai said that when she was 17, she did not have an adequate self-awareness of herself as a working adult. She apologised to her fans, staff, her (former) company, her mother for having given them much trouble. She promises to start anew with a new sense of her responsibility and to become stronger in facing life. She also expressed appreciation and gratitude for any support that may come her way.
She also mentioned she had fallen into depression during her parents’ divorce and something about a “he” asking her if she wanted to go anywhere — am not sure but it may refer to the 37 year-old man that she was rumoured to be dating.
The gossip entry ends by asking if this signals her return to the entertainment scene. The full interview will be released on Ohmy TV tomorrow, 7th April 2008, and we expect further + more detailed reports! Dinner time~! ^_^ Happy Sunday people!

She really looks repentant and small and sorry… and her short hair reminds me of Hirosue Ryoko. =( However, they cut off all the important parts and ends with the message that the “full interview” will only be released tomorrow, 7th April 2008. They also left it hanging very cunningly when she said, “he”… referring to some unnamed guy that led her astray? Or, as speculated above, that 37-year old man she was rumoured to be dating? Well, all that and more tomorrow. Oh school again. Bah.
