Konishi Manami’s single Sunny Day tops Taiwanese charts

(Japanese online news source: Mainichi) Konishi Manami’s single, released under the name Fujiki Kazue (the character she plays in the movie, Accuracy of Death) has topped Taiwanese charts for 3 days in a row! I dare you to tell me it isn’t a Takeshi Kaneshiro effect.

It was released on 10th of May in Taiwan, and topped charts thrice between the 5 day period from the 10th to the 14th.  A mouthful of math there. In Japan, the single was in the Top 10 on Oricon’s Weekly chart (dated 31st March) and achieved 10,000 sales in its first week after release.

Apparently Konishi Manami had chosen the tune from over 300 other alternative tunes, and presents a unique worldview with her emotive vocal prowess and a tragic piano accompaniment. This last sentence was creatively translated from the end of the Mainichi news piece. I think however it’s a rather inane remark, and a rather blah piece of news. but what to do. my laptop’s still under repair, i can’t download my kimuTaku dorama (cHANGE!!! ergh) , hence i can’t cast my verdict/ do a semi-review, and the rest of the stars other than Koda Kumi + Nakai don’t seem to be dating. T_T.
